Term 3, Week 10

We had an extra fun swimming session this week to celebrate the end of the term. Joe put the sprinklers on and we had fun trying to catch the raindrops in a variety of ways.

We celebrated lots of our amazing authors this week by having their share their writing with the class.  We have been learning to speak with a loud, clear voice and to use expression.  We are so proud of our super star writers!
We have loved this terms focus on being Inquisitive.  We finished the term with some fun experiments including flying tea bags.
On Tuesday we painted our tāonga and added string to turn them into necklaces. The students had fun experimenting with colours and patterns for their final design.
On Wednesday as part of investigation time we created balloon string rockets. It was great to see the problem solving students showed when their rocket didn't properly launch.
On Thursday we had a Teddy bears picnic - another great way to celebrate a fun term.  It was wonderful to meet all the teddy bears and we hoped they had as much fun as we did.
Making our special teddy bears picnic cookies. The students spread coloured icing over their biscuit, decorated them with hundreds and thousands and added a gummy bear on top. YUM!
Mr D came to join us and our teddies for our picnic.
One of our special Teddy Bear Day activities was to make teddy bear masks. Can you guess who is hiding behind them?
In the afternoon as a treat for the teddy bears being so respectful and responsible, we got out the giant parachute and gave the teddies a bounce.

After our parachute fun the students needed to go inside and pack our book bags away. The students left their teddy bears outside to enjoy more sun. When the students came back outside the teddies had decided to have a game of hide and seek.

On Thursday during our last tennis session, we were practising our underarm tennis shots with a partner.
For Friday arts the students created sailing boats on the wavy sea. The students used fine motor skills to cut, curl and paste their creations.
Have a great holiday everyone.  We look forward to having you all back in Term Four for lots more fun learning.
