Term 4, Week 7

On Tuesday we made magnetic fishing rods during investigation time. It took a lot of skill to cut and tie and stick the materials together. We also created magnetic sea creatures to catch. It also took a lot of skill to use our fishing rods. Look at some of the amazing sea creatures we caught.

We also made boats during investigation time. We made some interesting designs on our sails . We sailed our boats to see if they would float. We also made adjustments to our original plans and talked about how we constructed our boats during reflection time.

On Wednesday we made some delicious pikelets. We followed a recipe and measured and mixed the ingredients. We then chose what to put on our pikelets and ate them. YUM! YUM!

On Thursday this week we had the whole school end of year trip to Miadstone park and H20 Xtreme. Thanks to everyone who came and helped us out. It was a fun trip to celebrate a wonderful year together.

Term 4, Week 6

It has been another busy week in Room 14.

On Monday we learned how to skip count in twos.

We designed pairs of socks, so we could practise our skip counting.

Don't they look fantastic!

For maths we have also been working on our forwards and backwards counting to 100.

We used our skills by playing snakes and ladders.

It was also a good game to learn about turn taking and winning and losing.

On Wednesday some of us planted sunflower seeds.

We are excited to watch them grow.

We have continued to have so many creative and innovative investigations happening this week.  Here is just a peek at some of the fun and learning that has been happening.

We continue to have  very motivated and independent writers.  It has been exciting to see some children choosing to write during investigation times this week.

On Friday we did some art work based on the story of the rainbow fish.  Our fish all look special and individual.  Come and see them on our beautiful mural in the millennium space.

Thanks to all the families who attended the disco on Friday night.  It was great to see all the children, teachers and parents having fun dancing together.
