Term 4, Week 4

This week the children have enjoyed the process of making rainbow jellies.  We added a new colour layer to the jellies each day.
On Friday we ate our jellies - YUMMY!!
We have also been working on descriptive writing.  We have been describing our favourite animals, owls and fireworks.  The children have been challenged to write as many descriptive facts as they can.  We have some amazing authors in Room 14.
We also made some wonderful fireworks pictures to go with our fireworks writing.
Puppets have also been a popular theme in Room 14 this week.  We have been making puppets and performing puppet plays.
On Thursday we were super lucky to have a scooter skills session.  We all learnt a lot about how to stay safe on our scooters.
On Thursday we also participated in a fun animal treasure hunt where we had to search for all the animals that were hiding in our classroom.  There was some lovely team work happening with this activity.
On Friday we welcomed our new Ready Steady Go visitors who will be joining Room 14 next year.  We were so impressed with how everyone was helpful and friendly to our new visitors.  Our big book this week has been 'William's Wet Week'.  We made some collage pictures about wet days using a variety of materials and  our fine motor skills to cut and paste.
On Friday we also had another wonderful session of PMP where we used our gross motor skills on a variety of equipment.  The children are getting so good at following the instructions at PMP and gaining new skills.
Thanks for another great week Room 14!
