Term 1, Week 3

This week we were focusing on using our fine motor skills to help with our pencil grips and writing skills.

We had lots of activities organised to help develop these skills.
Here are a few of these activities.

We also followed some instructions in a reading book to make a rabbit.  The children worked very carefully on their cutting, folding and pasting skills.

We began writing in our writing books this week.  We wrote "Here is ....." sentences and wrote our names and also other special people.
We have also been working really hard on our learning maps.  These maps are all our ideas about our learning.  We would love you to add to our maps and we will also keep adding to them throughout the year.
On Wednesday we celebrated Valentines day with some special 'I love you' crafts for our friends and family.

.
Our art activity on Friday also used our fine motor skills.  We made collage dragons to celebrate Chinese New Year.  They all look so colourful and unique.

In the second session on Friday the students made a Chinese New Year firework pictures using glue, salt and dye.

At PMP on Friday the students enjoyed moving and following the instructions of a familiar song.

Finally we would like to say Happy Birthday to our fantastic new five year olds this week, Chloe, Carly and Lucie.
