Term 2, Week 1

This week we welcomed our new students to Room 14 - Jahzion, Carlton, Maico,  Ryder, Ari, Japji, Noah, Danika, Scarlett, Lily, Ambroise and April.
We welcomed them at our Tawa School powhiri.
We also said Happy birthday to some of our students who have turned five before joining us in Room 14.
We have been having fun getting to know our new friends and exploring our new environment.  Here are some of the things we have been doing.

We have started our toast station this week.  The children have enjoyed learning to cook and spread their own toast and cut their toast into halves and quarters.

We also learned about celebrating ANZAC day.  We made poppy pictures and decorated ANZAC cookies.

We had our first swimming lessons on Thursday.  We were so proud of the way all the children managed themselves with dressing and participated and gave things a go at swimming.  We are looking forward to watching the children progress in their swimming confidence and abilities this term.

We have also been training for our cross country which is coming up in a few weeks time.  Great job Room 14 super runners.

We were very lucky on Friday to have Clair from Gleeclub in Tawa come in and teach us a dance lesson.
