Term 3 Week 3

Happy Birthday Ares who turned five years old this week.
We had a great second week at Big Air Gym and it was amazing to see the progress the students have made in just two weeks.
On Monday, some lucky Room 14 students learned about caring for animals and the role of the SPCA. The children got to handle three rabbits that the SPCA man brought in.
On Tuesday for maths we made number lines. We had to cut and paste the numbers into the correct order. There was a lot of counting and checking happening to make sure we were putting the correct numbers in the right places.
During investigation time this week the blocks and the toy cars have been very popular. It has been great to see the team work shown by students to create car ramps. The students have used the inquiry process throughout their construction by testing and making improvements to get to their final designs.
There have been lots of other cool investigations too.
Literacy has also made for exciting investigations this week too. We have had a focus on reading and following instructions.
Friday Arts was bubble fun this week. The students made their very own bubble prints. It was great to see them observing the different patterns and watching the colours mix.
Unfortunately, Room 14 had to say goodbye to Maico on Friday.  Maico is moving house and will be leaving Tawa School.  We all wish him all the best at his new school and will all miss his happy personality in  Room 14.
