Term 3, Week 6

On Monday Room 14 had their first swimming session of the term. It was great to see the water confidence shown by all students.
Calendar art: Our Home and School committee have a fundraiser each year where children's art work is made into calendars, cards etc. Here are a few examples of Room 14's 'Pohutukawa Tree' art. Order forms will be going out shortly.

On Tuesday we learnt how to tell o'clock times on an analogue clock.
Unfortunately, on Thursday, the tennis coach was unable to come to school. To avoid disappointment the Room 14 teachers led a tennis session looking at hand eye coordination, correct grip and basic underarm shot.
The Year 7/8s are doing soft material technology (sewing) this term. On Thursday they asked some Room 14 students to draw a monster or creature. The Year 7/8s are going to spend the next week turning the picture into a soft toy which the Room 14 students will be able take home. It is great to have such wonderful tuakana/teina relationships being built in our school.
Investigation time continues to be a highlight of the day.  Here are some snapshots of the children's Investigation times this week.
On Wednesday, some students from Room 14 paid a coin donation to enter a maze created by our amazing Room Four students. The students had to make their way through box tunnels to find as many super heroes as they could and make it out the other end. Thanks Room Four for this amazing activity.

Have a happy weekend and a wonderful Fathers Day everyone.
