Term 1, Week 5

We have had a fantastic week in Room 14 'Making Music'.  We think we have some future band and orchestra members in our class.

We started out by exploring a variety of musical instruments and talked about the sounds they made.  We experimented with playing softly, loudly, quickly and slowly.

We also looked at musical notes and had a try at writing our own songs using musical notes.
We have been busy using our creative skills to make our own musical instruments using recyclable materials.
Have a look at some pictures and videos of our instruments and our musical performances.

This week we have also been busy authors.  We have been writing sentences using our word of the week which is 'Look'.

The big book for the week was Mrs Wishy Washy. The students took it in turns to perform the story to the rest of the class.

More active fun from our Friday PMP sessions.

On Friday for arts we made some collage pictures of one of our favourite book characters 'Pete the Cat'.  We had to follow a series of detailed instructions and use our fine motor skills to cut and paste.
Have a look at some of our amazing paper collage art.

And just incase you don't know Pete the cat.
You might like to share the Pete the Cat story and song at home.
